Author Biography

Jon Krakauer was the author of Into the Wild. Jon was born in 1954 and lived in Corvallis, Oregon. He first started hiking when he was eight years old. He graduated from Hampshire College in 1976. After that, he spent his time doing carpentry, fishing, and hiking. In 1977, he spent three weeks alone in the Stikine Icecap in Alaska. He spent much of his time climbing. In 1996, he climbed to the top of Mount Everest. From that experience, he wrote a book called Into Thin Air. Then, he wrote Into the Wild. I can't wait to read this book!
